Last night's sleep was the best I have had in a really long time. I had been feeling under the weather the past few days, especially yesterday, but with the combination of new medicine and an extra hour of sleep (thank you Lord for Daylight Savings Time) I woke up this morning feeling like a new man. Today is even better because tonight we are taking a break from regular Ignite and going bowling instead! I am probably the most inconsistent bowler of all time, but I feel like today is my day to shine. By the way, the first few times Ferris and I went bowling when we dated, she beat me. That's when I knew she was the one.
A quick recap from Friday night's Battle of the Bands. We had over 400 high school students show up, and it was insane! There were so many students that I had never seen before and who said on their registration cards that they weren't involved in any church. This is one of the ways we seek to provide hospitality to our high school community as well as reframing church so that they see it is a fun and welcoming place. We also saw some of the new faces from Friday night this morning at church. Pretty cool. The three bands were good, but Chasing Manhattan had an overwhelming amount of votes to win the event. It is really great to see high school students with so much talent. I have to give props to my man Eric for running sound with his new Jack Bauer in China beard. Impressive.
