I promised you a story about Chris Brown and who better to tell it than the man himself. Welcome today's guest blogger.
Sometimes people do stupid things. Sometimes people don’t think or pay attention to their surroundings or consider the consequences of their actions. Yesterday was one such example of yours truly, Chris Brown, not watching what I was doing. The result? Broken dreams, broken hearts, and a broken 1966 J-45 Gibson guitar neck. (weeping and sobbing ensue)
Location: Jason Hoard’s studio. Time: 3:42pm. Incident: I’m sitting on the right corner of Jason’s couch. On my right pressed against the couch and the wall is one of Jason’s vintage acoustic guitars. Without thinking I felt the need to stretch both of my arms out with glorious intensity. In doing so, I punched that guitar in the neck, forcefully knocking it down to its doom and destruction. There was an immediate severance of the body and head. And there was immediate silence in the room…except for these words from Jason’s mouth (who hadn’t seen…only heard the crash)—“It’s all good man, as long as it didn’t break.” To which Pat replied, “You might wanna look at that.”
Yeah, I bet your stomach is just as nauseous as mine still is. There’s nothing good that can come out of a situation like that. There’s no making me feel better about it. That’s not one of those situations you can say, “Yeah, we’ll look back at this one day and laugh.” No. That would be heretical. You can only hope that you might fall in the hands of such a graceful man as Jason, who since the accident has tried his hardest to make me feel better about the crash. I think his words were (in a thick southern dialect), “It was gonna burn one day anyway, now it’ll just burn in two pieces.” Actually, he was already wanting to replace the neck at some point, so I guess I just forced his hand early.
And so goes life. The life of Chris Brown…destroyer of vintage guitars.

said in the voice of a grouchy old man, "So that's where the Dominate money will be going."
