The Dry Times

I wish I could say that every time I read my Bible during my daily time with God that I am so excited and have an amazingly profound experience. Unfortunately, that is not always my story. Right now I am going through Job, and for some reason it has been really hard to get in the zone. This is the point where it gets so easy to let this time in the Word slip, but I know from the past that when I am able to press through during the dry times that my roots end up going so much deeper. So I have been fighting my way through and today I felt like God really began to speak. This post today is a reminder to myself and an encouragement to us all to resist the urge to give up when the excitement has faded and to instead press further into the life-giving word of our great God.
