Our Volunteers

Last Sunday night we had a prayer event at the warehouse which will eventually be our new Matthews Campus and our first permanent facility. Hundreds of volunteers showed up for a time of prayer and worship as Pastor Steven cast the vision for what this place would mean for us. 

The thing that got me so excited as I moved to different prayer station with our volunteers was to hear their excitement, not about a cool new building, but rather an expectancy for the thousands of lives that will be changed by Jesus at this campus. I love the heart of our volunteers. Their passion for Jesus. Their weekly sacrifice and service to the vision of Elevation so that we can reach a city with the gospel. And their perspective that this building is not the end goal, but is just a taste of what's to come.

Thank You

Today at Elevation, Pastor Steven allowed me to share the story of our twins and how we were praying a sun stand still prayer for their healing. He then led the thousands of people at church today in praying for our girls. The worship experience ended with an altar call moment where people who were hurting came to the front to be prayed over as they offered their own sun stand still prayers to God. It was extremely powerful.

Words cannot express how much today meant for me and Ferris. We have been left speechless by the love we have received from our Pastor and the rest of our church. Elevation, from the bottom of our hearts we say thank you. We are so humbled by your prayers, encouragement and faith. 

We are also blown away by your generosity. For those of you who weren't at Elevation this morning, Pastor Steven announced that all of the money brought in today from the sales of the brand new worship CD would be given to me and Ferris to cover our medical expenses in this process. Those CDs sold like crazy, and thousands of dollars came in so that we would not have to carry any financial burden. We are extremely grateful.

Thank you again, Elevation, for showing us the love of Jesus in so many ways as we walk through this difficult time. Our girls have thousands of Elevators fighting for them now and a God who can make the sun stand still. I can't wait to see all that He is going to do.

Kick Off

C3 is about to kick off, and Chunks succeeded in his secret ops mission to get us a whole row of good seats. I don't know what awaits us, but if the live elephant standing at the door is any indication, all bets are off. I can't wait to get my vision stretched and here what God has to say to my heart about the worship department at Elevation.

Audacious Leadership

Audacity is when courage is acted upon.

This was my favorite quote from Pastor Steven's  message at the Evolve Conference. The Spirit of God was so present in that room as Pastor challenged everyone to do ministry out of a burning vision from God instead of a cut and paste methodology of what works everywhere else. You can't mimic someone else's miracle. Once God has given you the vision, then have the courage and audacity to pray prayers like this one and take the steps of faith required to see God move. Once we operate out of our unique calling and giftedness, it is then that we see God do the miraculous in our midst.

Legacy

Today the entire Elevation staff went to support Pastor as he preached the devotional at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. After the devotion, we were given a tour of the Billy Graham library and the executive offices. I went into the library expecting a cool history lesson on the life of a great man, but I what I got was a true encounter with God. I was overwhelmed by what the Lord has accomplished for His kingdom through the faithfulness of Dr. Graham. Millions of people have heard the gospel and responded in faith to Jesus because a team of people believed that God wanted to accomplish great things in their generation and that there is life-changing power when people hear the gospel. I must confess that tears were shed. It was an honor to celebrate the life and ministry of this great man of God. I am so thankful to be under the leadership of another great man of God in Pastor Furtick who believes that this same gospel of Jesus needs to be preached to as many people as possible, and who will not rest until this city is dominated by the grace and love of Jesus.
